Savage Mill
Location: Savage, MD - Status: Abandoned/Restored
Savage Mill is a complex of buildings, the oldest dating back to 1820, which served as a cotton mill for over a century.
The mill was shut down in 1947, but was later renovated and re-opened as a complex of shops and restaurants in 1985.
It is now part of the
National Register of Historic Places and still thrives as a modern-day center of commerce.

The photographs featured here are of the last two buildings that remain in their original state.  Left to the effects of time
and the elements, they portray the true character and history of The Mill.  There is talk of renovating them and preserving
the machinery contained therein, but ground has not yet been broken on such an effort.  Either way, the eventuality is, as
with most structures, one where photographs will be the only true depiction and testament of what once was.
